Sliders on the big screen
Rated PG-13. In this film a Palestinian immigrant is lucky enough to work at White Castle. Other things happen in this movie as well, but the working at White Castle is what most caught our attention.
Rated R. Greatest movie of all time. Harold (John Cho), a Korean-American banker, and his roommate, Kumar (Kal Penn), an Indian-American med school student arrive at wisdom by accident as they drive around New Jersey in search of the best late night fix money can buy.
Rated R. This film is based on a novel called The White Castle, and even makes reference to a specific store in south St. Louis. In it, Susan Sarandon plays a middle-aged waitress who falls in love with a much younger and very depressed James Spader.
Rated R. Remember that scene where Tony and his buddies take Stephanie out with them to eat. That was filmed at a White Castle located at 402 92nd St., Brooklyn, NY (now closed).
Rated PG-13. Probably the best part of this movie is when they all pile in the car and sing Bohemian Rhapsody. And the best part of that scene is when they show the White Castle as they drive by. Swing by our Aurora, IL location and have a brush with greatness.
Rated PG-13. This one guy shows up in the nerds suite looking for trouble. He’s wearing a ‘White Castle’ apron.
Rated PG-13. We hear that White Castle makes an appearance in this film. Being that it features a Cincinnati college student who breaks off his engagement to his wealthy fiancée after he falls in love with a backwoods Kentucky girl he meets at a party. That sounds about right.
Not rated. How much did a Louisville White Castle mean to its people? When they learned that White Castle #12 was to close its doors forever due to a rent dispute, thousands came out into the cold on December 21, 1988 to bid an old and faithful friend farewell. Local film maker Ron Schildknecht captured the essence of the event in a fitting black-and-white film. Unfortunately, this documentary is probably not even available in limited availability. But trust us, it was a great flick.
This hilarious view in into the life of comic book writer, Harvey Pekar, features a fantastic scene where Toby Radloff, the “genuine nerd” talks to Pekar about sliders and “Revenge of the Nerds” while devouring a slew of Sliders and fries.
In “Epic Movie”, the evil queen called “The White Bitch” reffers to her castle “The White Castle” and a video of w white caslte store appears, Kal Penn (from Harold and Kumar), also in the movie says “Seems like I’ve been there before”
Sliders on the air
On their 1986 album Licensed to Ill, the Beastie Boys referenced White Castle in not one song, not two songs, but five songs: “Hold It Now – Hit It!,” “The New Style,” “Slow And Low,” “Girls” and “Slow Ride.”
They wrote a song called “The White Castle Blues” and frankly we’re shocked it didn’t make the top 40. These guys even made the Craver Hall of Fame. Check out their whole story.
The cover of their first album, Go Girl Crazy, is a photo of the band in a Bronx White Castle in 1974. Beat that.
This hardcore punk band from New Jersey played from 1981 to 1990. During that time, they mention White Castle in one of their songs. It wasn’t our most glowing review, but we don’t hold it against them. It was the 80’s.
In their song, “Moving to Florida” they give White Castle Sides a shout out.
LL Cool J mentioned White Castle in the song “That’s a Lie” which was on his debut album, Radio.

In 2008, Weird Al released a parody of TI’s song “Whatever You Like” in which Weird Al sings "You want White Castle? You need White Castle?
Eminem mentions White Castle in his song “my name is” the line goes: This guy at White Castle asked for my autograph

During an episode of the Sopranos, Junior Soprano yells at his aide Bobby for taking too long to return home. He indicated that he could smell White Castles on him.
