White Castle is donating $10,000 to the Wigs 4 Kids program in Detroit at the 8th Annual Gala Fundraiser tomorrow night. Cheryl Collier, a district supervisor from Detroit, will be presenting the check to the nonprofit organization. Collier, a cancer survivor, volunteers her time with Wigs 4 Kids.

She has worked for White Castle for 28 years and was presented with the Lighting the Way award last month during the company’s 90th birthday celebration. The award recognizes a White Castle team member who is “Lighting the Way” for others through outstanding contributions to civic or charitable groups.

For receiving the Lighting the Way award, Collier was given a $10,000 check to be donated to the charity of her choice. She chose to donate the money to the Wigs 4 Kids organization.

Wigs 4 Kids is a non-profit organization that focuses on providing wigs for children suffering from hair loss. Many of the children in the program have lost their hair from cancer. The program is available to any child up to the age of 18 in Michigan.

The Wigs 4 Kids 8th Annual Gala Fundraiser will include food, entertainment, raffles, silent auction and more.

White Castle is famous for putting its people first and offers fulltime team members many benefits, including paid vacations; health, dental and life insurance; pension and profit sharing; weekly paychecks; as well as on-the-job perks such as White Castle’s ‘promote from within policy’ and free meals while working.
