White Castle Visits Congress with Its First "Castles at the Capitol"

White Castle continues 90th birthday celebrations in the nation’s capital, delivers Original SliderĀ® burgers to members of Congress

COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — White Castle is heading to the Hill with hot, fresh, steam-grilled-on-a-bed-of-onions Original SlidersĀ® in tow. In honor of its 90th birthday, White Castle wanted to share its famous bite-sized burgers with all members of Congress during its first “Castles at the Capitol” event.

“In the past, local members of Congress have supported our organization by getting behind the counter at White Castle and serving sliders to constituents in their districts. This year, we wanted to serve them,” said Jamie Richardson, vice president of government and corporate relations. “Many members of Congress have told us about their fond memories of going to White Castle growing up, and we hope to bring back some of those cherished memories on June 14.”
Castles at the Capitol will be held over lunchtime on Tuesday, June 14, which is Flag Day. Members of Congress were notified of the lunch treat by hand-delivered invitations. White Castle employees will be serving up fresh hamburgers, cheeseburgers and jalapeno burgers to all members of Congress. The SlidersĀ® then will be hand-delivered in White Castle’s Crave Cases of 30 burgers each.
