A new 30,000 square foot hamburger plant is constructed in Covington, Kentucky and begins producing 200,000 hamburger sandwiches a day to be frozen and sold. Frozen White Castles also make their convenience store debut.
White Castle hamburgers and cheeseburgers are
introduced to vending machines. Cheeseburgers
quickly become the #1 item in their vending category
nationwide. Vend-i, vidi, vici!!!

White Castle celebrates its 75th anniversary. Honor thy Crave.

The White Castle cheeseburger is honored with the food product of the year award by the vending industry.

1997
A 51,000-square-foot replacement plant is built in Louisville, Kentucky to produce the majority of sandwiches for retail and grocery. Fancy new features include a batter and breading line for onion rings, cheese sticks and other appetizers. This eventful year also marks the debut of the Jalapeño Cheeseburgers in select retail and grocery stores.
