White Castle has developed this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to explain our online information practices as they relate to information submitted through the White Castle web sites at www.whitecastle.com, www.whatyoucrave.com, www.cravecentral.com, www.keeperofthecrave.com, www.thecrave.com, and www.houseofcrave.com (which contain the same content and are collectively referred to herein as the “Site”). This Policy is effective from the time it is posted on the Site, as noted above. To make this Policy easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be submitted. White Castle collects and retains only information that you voluntarily submit to us. Please read below for more specific information on the type of information we collect and how it is used.

2. TYPES OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW IT IS USED

Information Sign-Up. By submitting your email address through the “BE ONE OF OURS” link or the “BECOME ONE OF OURS” window, you may subscribe to receive periodic updates about promotions, new menu items, merchandise, events, and other information relevant to White Castle delivered to your email inbox. You may opt out of receiving email messages and notifications by following the opt out instructions included with all messages delivered to your inbox.

Crave Time Cook-Off and other Sweepstakes/Contests. We will collect information necessary to submit your Crave Time Cook-Off recipe, Cravers Hall of Fame story or other sweepstakes or contest entry and to contact you as necessary for the administration of the relevant sweepstakes or contest. You may also receive informative email messages as a result of your entrance unless you have chosen to opt out of receiving such messages either at that time of sign up or in accordance with the opt out instructions included with the informative message(s) delivered to your email inbox. Winners may be required to return a completed prize acceptance form contained in the notification email by facsimile or U.S. mail and/or to execute (without limitation) tax acknowledgement forms, affidavits of eligibility, liability releases, and publicity releases (except where prohibited by law) within a designated time period. Please see the Official Rules located on the respective submission page of the Site for complete details.

Contact Us Information. If you choose to contact us, we collect your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and your suggestion, question, comment, or customer service request. We use the information to process your suggestion or customer service request. We also will use this information to improve our products and services. Disclosure Required. White Castle reserves the right to disclose any information you have submitted, without notice, if required to do so by law or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to:

(a) conform to the requirements of the law or to comply with legal process served on White Castle or the Site;
(b) protect and defend the rights or property of White Castle; or,
(c) protect the personal safety of White Castle employees, associates, consumers, or the public.

3. OTHER INFORMATION COLLECTED

We may from time to time contract with advertisers or other third parties who place information, advertisements, or other promotional material or links on our Site. If you click on an advertisement or other link provided by a third party and leave our Site, whether through a link or through visiting another web site framed within our Site, you are subject to the privacy policies of these advertisers or other third parties. We do not have responsibility for, or access to, the information collected by these third parties. Any links from this web site to the web site of a third party are not endorsements, sponsorships, or recommendations of the ideas, products, or services of the third party. White Castle is not liable for any damages, including indirect, incidental, special, or consequential, resulting from the use of, or information submitted through, third party web sites.

Employment Information.If you would like to become a White Castle System, Inc. employee, you may choose to search for job openings, sign up for job opening notification, or submit an employment application online through the “Employment” link. All information entered by you if you choose to register with the White Castle Job Agent is collected by the Bernard Hodes Group, a third party responsible for collecting the information and matching the information with White Castle job openings. The information collected through the application will be used by Bernard Hodes Group to match your credentials with White Castle job openings, of which you will be informed via your email address. If you choose to have your information remain anonymous, your personal information submitted through the Employment pages will not be shared with White Castle without your permission. White Castle is not responsible for the security of the information while retained exclusively by the Bernard Hodes Group and is not liable for any breach of that security.

You may apply for employment with White Castle by performing a job search, clicking on the job title, and clicking the “Apply Online” link. All information entered through the online application will be sent directly to White Castle and will be used only for purposes of review for employment and will not be shared with third parties or used for purposes other than as consistent with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

White Castle House of Crave Online Store.If you would like to purchase White Castle products online, you may visit the House of Crave Online Store through a link on our web site. The House of Crave Online Store services are provided by Kingston, a third party, and you must leave our Site in order to visit the store and/or to make a purchase. When visiting the House of Crave Online Store, you are subject to Kingston’s terms and conditions and privacy policy. We do not have responsibility for or access to the information collected at the House of Crave Online Store and are therefore not responsible for the security of that information and not liable for any breach of that security.

Information of Others.If you choose to submit the information of someone other than yourself without White Castle’s knowledge, the information will be handled in accordance with this Policy. You, however, are solely responsible and liable for any claims relating to your submission and use of that information.

4. OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY

The security of your personal information is important to us. None of the personal data collected is stored directly in the pages. We have further measures in place to protect your personal information once it reaches us.

5. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes, we will notify you by displaying a new “Posted” date at the top of our Privacy Policy.
